The Kansas Wildlife Center in Wichita has a small, but quite well-done, exhibit of native animals.

Kansas

The Center is in Central Riverside Park, along the Little Arkansas River.

Chapa the Beaver is out for his walk while under the supervision of his keeper.  A beaver on land is not a fast creature; he's not going to run away.

Rufus the Bobcat is an entertaining cat.  I don't know that you'd want to assume that bobcats in the wild are anywhere near as nice as Rufus.

Pokey the opossum sets his clock by food.

Chuck the Vulture is something near thirty years old.  He's got a lot of character for a vulture.
